This toy must only be used with the specified batteries. BATTERY INSTALLATION 1. Open the battery compartment door located at the back of the unit. 2. Install the 3 AA alkaline batteries and follow the polarity as shown inside the battery compartment. 3. Close the battery compartment. 4. When new batteries are inserted, use a sharp object (tooth pick for example) to press the RESET button located at the back of the game. 5. Switch On the game Do not use rechargeable batteries. Do not charge the batteries. Take the batteries out of the unit before charging them. Charge the batteries only under adult supervision. Do not mix different types of batteries, or new and old batteries. Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity. Exhausted batteries should be removed. Do not short-circuit the supply terminals. Use only specified batteries. Do not throw batteries into fire. If the toy is not being used for a length of time, remove the batteries. When the sound is weak or when the game does not react, please think about changing the batteries. If your unit shows some malfunction, take the batteries out of the compartment and place them again, this operation will RESET your product. THE KEYS Player 1 and Player 2 ( only the 4 lower buttons ). 1: 2: 3: 4: 5: ON/OFF : To switch the game On and Off. VOLUME : To adjust the volume level. NEW GAME : To start a new game. WAR : To start a new battle with less than 5 vessels. CANCEL : To be pressed during the game, to cancel a coordinate that has already been played, before pressing ENTER. Also when you save your fleet positions, you can cancel the selection of the previous vessel. 6 / 7: LEFT / RIGHT : To select the information on the LCD screen. 8: ENTER / FIRE : To enter a position or to fire. GT2000 2 28/05/03, 15:48:29 START THE GAME 1. Insert the batteries inside the game. 2. Place the barrier into the base of the game. 3. Press the ON/OFF button. 4. Select 1 or 2 Players mode. In mode 1, you play against the computer. When the icon is blinking on the LCD screen, press ENTER to confirm or press LEFT/RIGHT to select the 2 Players Mode. Confirm by pressing ENTER. 1 PLAYER MODE 2 PLAYERS MODE 5. Select the battle type: Sea Battle Radar Commander Gunner Strike Red Alert For each of the 4 game modes, you must choose the position of your vessels. Your vessels are : 1 aircraft carrier (= 5 cases as per the following example P1, P2, P3, P4, P5 ) 1 destroyer (= 4 cases as per the following example D1, D2, D3, D4 ) 2 frigates (= 3 cases as per the following example C1, C2,C3 ) 1 gunner boat (= 2 cases as per the following example F1, F2 ) You can use the 5 ships or only 4,3,2 or 1 vessel. The screen displays the maximum number of ships that you can choose. You must first choose the first vessel that you wish to save. Choose among the vessels displayed on screen. Use the LEFT / RIGHT button to scroll each vessel. Press ENTER to select the type of vessel. Then, you need to save the coordinates of one of the extremities of the vessel. "A0" appears on screen and the letter `A' will be blinking. GT2000 3 28/05/03, 15:48:30 To change and select another letter, use the LEFT / RIGHT button then press ENTER. Now, the number `0' is blinking. Follow the same method you used to save the letter, and select the number where you want the extremity of the vessel to be located. Press ENTER to save it. At last, follow the same method to save the coordinates of the other extremity of the vessel. A sound effect will confirm that the vessel has been properly saved. The screen will now indicate which vessel you still need to save. Choose the next boat and save its coordinates, using the same process as for the first boat, etc. 7. You can choose to use only 1, 2, 3 or 4 vessels. To do so, press the button WAR after saving the coordinates of at least one vessel. Once you have finished saving the coordinates of 1 or more vessels of Player 1, the game will continue automatically to the next stage. In 1 Player Mode, the game will start automatically. In 2 Players Mode, it is the turn of Player 2 to save the coordinates of his boats. The game will automatically start when the two fleets have been saved. Note : Player 2 can only save the same number of vessels as Player 1. Game Modes Sea Battle Mode Both players must guess where the vessels of their opponent are and destroy them. The first player to destroy the last vessel of his opponent's fleet wins. To fire, enter the coordinates the same way as you did for the vessels ( Cf.6 ). Radar Commander Mode It is played the same way as the Sea Battle. However, when a shot is fired and missed, the LCD screen will indicate the nearest target. This gives a hint to the Player and helps him to locate the nearest vessel. Gunner Strike Mode It is played the same way as the Sea Battle, but the selection of the coordinates of the target is different. Select first the letter corresponding to the target. Press ENTER. Then the numbers 1 to 10 are generated by a prompt and appear on the LCD screen. The Player must be fast and accurate to press Enter at the right time and select the correct number where he wants to fire. Red Alert Mode This is a mix of the 3 previous modes: It is played like in the Sea Battle Mode. The coordinates selection is done as in the Gunner Strike Mode. When the fire has missed the target, the LCD screen will indicate the nearest target from the missed fire (like in Radar Commander Mode). GT2000 4 28/05/03, 15:48:31 Demo Mode To start the demo, press the buttons WAR and ON/OFF simultaneously. To stop the demo, press ON/OFF. TO START A GAME 8. To enter the coordinates to fire, the procedure is the same as the one used to select a vessel position (Cf. 6) If the shot does not reach any vessel, use the white markers to remember the shots already made (the game contains 200). The screen will indicate when your shots have missed the target. A sound effect indicates when you target the same position twice. You can correct the coordinates by pressing CANCEL before pressing ENTER. The game also displays the coordinates of your opponent's shots. To see the last coordinates of your opponent on the screen, press simultaneously LEFT / RIGHT simultaneously. 9. If your shot hits one opponent's vessel, the game will display an explosion on the screen. You can memorize the position by using the red marker (the game contains 70pcs). 10. VESSEL DESTROYED When you hit the last part of a vessel, it will be completely destroyed. An animation and various sound effects will illustrate the sinking ! 11. THE WINNER The Player who destroys all the vessels of his opponent is the Winner. SHOT PROBLEMS SYMPTOM Does not work POSSIBLE CAUSE !! Batteries are old. !! Batteries are not correctly inserted. Wrong position like : !! A vessel exceeding 5 cases or less than 2 cases. !! Vessel is diagonally located. !! Position is already occupied by another vessel. !! 2 vessels are located next to each other. SOLUTION !! Change batteries. !! Check that the batteries are correctly inserted. The game does not save a position. !! Check Paragraph 5 regarding the size of the vessels and the number of vessels. All the parts of a vessel have been hit but the vessel is not destroyed. !! Continue to play. TO STOP THE GAME To stop a game, simply press the ON/OFF button. The game will automatically switch Off if it is not used for 5 minutes. Contains Glass elements that might break. MANUAL DE INSTRUCCIONES Español PILAS 1. NIMITZ funciona por medio de 3 pilas alcalinas "AA" de 1,5V. 2. Este juguete solamente deberá de ser utilizado con las pilas especificadas. COLOCACIÓN DE LAS PILAS 1. Abrir la tapadera del compartimiento de pilas, situado debajo del juguete. 2. Colocar 3 pilas "AA" alcalinas, siguiendo las polaridades indicadas en el compartimiento. 3. Cierre el compartimiento de pilas. 4. Una vez que se hayan insertado las pilas, utilice un objeto puntiagudo (por ejemplo un palillo) para pulsar el botón de reajuste RESET, situado en la parte posterior de juego. 5. Enciende el juego ("ON"). No utilices pilas recargables. No cargues las pilas. Extrae las pilas antes de cargarlas. Las pilas solamente deberán de ser cargadas bajo la supervisión de un adulto. No mezcles pilas de distintos tipos entre sí, o pilas nuevas con pilas agotadas. Las pilas deberán ser insertadas con la polaridad correcta. Las pilas agotadas deberán ser extraídas. Las terminales de suministro no deberán de ser acortadas. No tires las pilas al fuego. Extrae las pilas del aparato cuando este no vaya a ser utilizado. Cuándo el sonido se debilite o el juego no reaccione, ¡ya es hora de cambiar las pilas!. Si tu aparato no funcionase correctamente, extrae las pilas del compartimiento y vuélvelas a colocar. Esta operación REAJUSTARÁ el aparato. GT2000 6 28/05/03, 15:48:32 LOS BOTONES Jugador 1 y Jugador 2 (solamente los 4 botones inferiores). 1: INICIO / APAGAR: Para iniciar y apagar el juego. 2: VOLUMEN : Para ajustar el nivel del volumen. 3: JUEGO NUEVO: Para comenzar un juego nuevo. 4: BATALLA : Para comenzar una nueva batalla con menos de 5 barcos. 5: CANCELAR : Durante el juego, para cancelar una coordenada que ya has utilizado, antes de pulsar ENTER, O cuando guardes las posiciones de tu flota, para cancelar la selección del barco anterior . 6 / 7: IZQUIERDA / DERECHA : Para seleccionar las informaciones en la pantalla LCD. 8: ENTER / FUEGO : Para dar entrada a una posición o para disparar. COMENZAR EL JUEGO 1. Insertar las pilas dentro del juguete. 2. Colocar la barrera en la base del juguete. 3. Pulsar el botón INICIO / APAGAR. 4. Seleccionar el modo de 1 o 2 jugadores. En el modo 1 jugarán contra el ordenador. Cuando el icono parpadea en la pantalla LCD, pulsa el botón ENTER para confirmar, o pulsa IZQUIERDA / DERECHA para mostrar el icono de 2 jugadores. Confirma pulsando ENTER. MODO DE 1 JUGADOR MODO DE 2 JUGADORES 5. Selecciona el tipo de batalla: Batalla Naval Radar Commander Gunner Strike Alerta Roja GT2000 7 28/05/03, 15:48:33 Para cada de lo 4 modos, deberás de seleccionar las posiciones de tus barcos. Guarda las coordinadas de cada barco en la memoria del juego. La pantalla muestra el número máximo de barcos que puedes seleccionar. Primero deberás de elegir el primer barco que deseas salvar. Elige entre los barcos mostrados en la pantalla. Utiliza el botón IZQUIERDA / DERECHA para ver los barcos. Pulsa ENTER para hacer la selección del tipo de barco. Seguidamente, deberás de salvar las coordenadas de uno de los extremos del barco. En la pantalla aparecerá "A0» y la letra "A" parpadea. Para cambiar y seleccionar otra letra, utiliza el botón IZQUIERDA / DERECHA y pulsa ENTER. Ahora el número "0" parpadea. Utiliza la misma forma que utilizaste para guardar la letra y selecciona el número donde quieres colocar el extremo del barco. Pulsa ENTER para guardar. Finalmente, utiliza la mism ...
